About Us

Hello, I’m Emily. Founder of Finnell at Home, wife to Ivor and Mum to Finley and Nell.

To create Finnell at Home, I combined the most treasured things in my life, mixing the cosiness of home, family, and candlelight with the pure magic of trips to Lapland. 

I’ve always been enchanted by Lapland with its sparkling ice and snow, its mysterious forests and spectacular skies. My husband and I were married in an ice chapel there, before taking a reindeer sleigh ride through lantern-lit forests to a log cabin. The experience of staying in this cosy, candlelit cabin has stayed with me ever since.

In recent years we’ve taken our children for fairy-tale-like visits to Father Christmas (who, to their astonishment, had the letters they’d sent him). We snuggled down in comfy log cabins and witnessed the splendour of the Northern Lights… There were tears when we had to leave – and they weren’t only the children’s’!

Hygge for your home
I wanted to take the very simple but special feeling we all experienced in our cabin and make it part of life at home, for myself and others. And so, using natural ingredients and my own candle-making skills, I have created a range of subtly aromatic wax melts and Scandi-inspired burners, all made to provide busy people with moments of quiet contentment or, as the Scandinavians call it, hygge, in their own homes.
